SEO stands for search engine optimization. It is a technique used to increase the amount of visitors in a website so as to get top position in the search result. In mid 1990’s webmasters and content providers began optimizing the sites for search engines. Search engines are software system that help the users to get information on the web. It include three processes such as crawling, caching and indexing. Basic Introduction on SEO is an article which deals with the basics of SEO.

As we are going through the Basic Introduction on SEO we need to know the updations done in algorithm.There were some issues in optimizing the results to the user. So Google developed many algorithms to get right information’s to the users. They introduced page rank which was an important factor in search result. websites with high page rank will be listed first in the search result.There were many criteria for ranking a website. Google had taken different methods for this. At the beginning stages they focused on keyword usage and link building. But as time passes everyone started to work on the same, so Google made updations which focuses on contents, quality of links, and interaction with social media. The major updations done were Google panda, penguin updation etc.

Introduction on Google Updation

Google panda updation remove many of the low quality websites and webpages which contain low quality contents. Penguin updation focused on link spammers. These updations effected several sites and many of them were destroyed. After this they made changes in algorithm which aims on the interaction with social media and user responses. Small updations were also done by Google between these periods.

Need for SEO

In today’s world many of them depend on internet for their needs, if one wants to get an information his first option will be to Google it. Here comes the importance of SEO.  Many companies and business firms depend on it. SEO makes the website popular. There are many social media promotion through which user can enter your site, but many of them use search engines. So if search engine do not find our site then we are missing an opportunity to drive traffic to our site. Here comes the importance of SEO. by doing this we can improve the position of our site in the search result and increase the traffic on our site. 

SEO is all about optimizing a website for search engine. SEO is a subset of search engine marketing. It is also referred to as SEO copy writing because most of the techniques that are used to promote sites in search engine, deals with text.SEO aims at different kinds of search such as image search, local search, news search etc.
